Market Announcement Cergen’s Acquisition of the Santon X-Type DC PV Switch Product Line and Intellectual Property

Rotterdam, Netherlands – Zhejiang, China, April 22, 2024

Dear Santon Customers,

We are pleased to announce that the development, production, and sales of the Santon X-Type DC switch product line have been transferred from Santon to Cergen.

After serious consideration, Santon headquarter, discoverIE Group plc (www.discoverIEplc.com), has reached an agreement with Cergen to sell all assets related to the Santon-manufactured X-Type DC switch product line to Cergen. According to the agreement, the customer accounts, intellectual property, production tools, production equipment, production processes, and the Santon brand associated with these products will be transferred to Cergen.

Currently, the first production line has already been put into operation at Cergen, with mass production underway. The Santon engineering team will continue to provide technical support. The entire transition process is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

The transition of the Santon X-Type DC switch to Cergen does not include Santon’s DFS-PFS and SCS.

Since 2010, Cergen has been the exclusive distributor of Santon photovoltaic (PV) products in China (operating under the name Green Century), with over 80% of Santon-manufactured X-Type DC PV switches sold by Cergen. In 2018, Cergen established a switch R&D center in China to further develop Santon’s photovoltaic products, introducing numerous innovative solutions such as PCB onboard switches, automatic tripping devices, free tripping devices, PV2 high-breaking switches, and energy storage-specific switches. These have been successfully launched to the market, receiving wide recognition from both domestic and international customers. More new designs are currently under development and will be introduced to the market soon.

The transaction between Santon and Cergen will ensure that the X-Type DC switch product line maintains its competitive position in the growing renewable energy market, offering sustainable and competitively priced solutions with reliable quality.
